1. Tell us about the key contributors to this project.
Who were the main individuals involved?
How did you meet, and how did their contributions help shape the release
The key contributor to this project was I, as I’m both the artist and the producer of “La Borrachera.” As an independent Latin urban artist, I usually build my songs from the ground up—concept, writing, production, and creative direction. This track reflects that DIY spirit. I’ve been developing my sound between reggaetón, trap, and Afrobeats, but for this release, I wanted to dive into Dominican dembow with my own twist. Working alone allowed me to experiment freely and shape the energy exactly the way I imagined it: fast, fun, and made for the clubs. Even though I produced the song myself, the project was also influenced by the people around me—DJs, dancers, and friends in Switzerland who constantly inspire my music and lifestyle. Their feedback helped me refine the vibe and keep the track authentic to the culture. In the end, “La Borrachera” became a release that represents my journey as an independent artist: self-made, deeply connected to my community, and always pushing for a unique Latin identity in Europe.
2. Who influenced this release? Are there specific artists who inspired your work on this release? If so, please share how their influence is reflected in your music.
This release was influenced by several artists who shaped my approach to Latin urban music. I’ve always been inspired by the energy of Dominican dembow pioneers like El Alfa and Chimbala—their rhythm, their attitude, and the way they bring the streets into the music. That raw, playful spirit definitely pushed me to create “La Borrachera” with a high-energy, club-ready vibe. At the same time, I’m also influenced by the smooth melodies and R&B sensibility from artists like Chris Brown and the '90s R&B era. Even in a fast dembow track, I try to carry that melodic touch in my flow and delivery. These influences come together in my music through the blend of Caribbean percussion, catchy hooks, and my own Latin-European identity. “La Borrachera” reflects all of that—Dominican rhythm, global urban flavor, and my personal style as an independent artist shaping his own lane.
3. What's the story behind this release? Were there particular life events, global happenings, or personal philosophies that influenced the creation of this music?
The story behind “La Borrachera” comes from a very real part of my life as an independent Latin artist living far from home. The track was created during a period where I was working long hours, dealing with personal losses, and still pushing myself to stay creative. Music became my escape—my way of releasing stress, celebrating life, and staying connected to my culture. In the middle of all that, I wanted to create a song that felt like freedom. A moment where you forget the pressure, the responsibilities, the distance from your country, and just let yourself go. “La Borrachera” symbolizes that release: a night out with friends, dancing, laughing, disconnecting from the weight of reality. Global situations also influenced the song indirectly. Being far from my homeland and seeing everything happening there made me value even more the moments of joy and community we build abroad. So this track carries that immigrant energy—the need to celebrate even when life feels heavy. More than anything, “La Borrachera” reflects my philosophy as an artist: turning real-life struggles into rhythm, turning pain into movement, and finding light through music. It’s a song made to enjoy, but it comes from a place of resilience.
4. Tell us what makes this release stand out and why it's significant it's an album; pick out one or two tracks to talk about
What makes “La Borrachera” stand out is the fusion of authentic Dominican dembow energy with my Latin-European artistic identity. The track is fast, fun, and explosive, but it also carries a melodic touch and storytelling approach that isn’t always present in traditional dembow. It blends street rhythm with a smoother vocal style, creating a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. This release is significant for me because it marks a new chapter in my artistic evolution. I produced the track myself, which allowed me to shape every detail—from the drums to the flow—to match the vision I had in mind. It represents my growth as a creator, my independence, and my ability to create music that resonates in both Latino communities and the European scene where I live. If listeners pay attention, they’ll feel the contrast: the high-energy party vibe on the surface, and the deeper emotion underneath—coming from everything I’ve lived while building my career far from home. That duality is what sets “La Borrachera” apart and gives the song its personality and power.
5. Where did the recording take place? Does the location have a historical or emotional significance? For instance, have other notable artists recorded there, or does the place hold a special meaning for you?
The recording of “La Borrachera” took place in my personal home studio in Lucerne, Switzerland. It’s not a famous commercial studio, but for me, it has a deep emotional meaning. This is the place where I’ve built my entire sound as an independent Latin artist living outside my country. My home studio is where I learned to produce, where I experimented with new genres, and where I’ve turned personal struggles into music. There’s something powerful about creating a high-energy dembow track in such a quiet European city—it feels like bringing a piece of my culture into a completely different world. Even though no major artists have recorded there, the room holds my history. It has seen me working after long shifts, recording at late hours, and pushing myself to grow without depending on big studios or major labels. That independence and resilience are part of the identity of “La Borrachera.” So yes, the location matters—not because of who recorded there before me, but because it represents who I am: an immigrant artist building his path from scratch, transforming a small space into a creative home.

6. What was unique about the recording process? We're interested in any creative techniques or innovative methods you used in recording, producing, or mixing this release.
What made the recording process of “La Borrachera” unique is that everything was created entirely by me—from the first drum pattern to the final mix. I worked in a very spontaneous and intuitive way, building the track piece by piece based on the natural energy of the dembow rhythm. One of the creative techniques I used was unconventionally layering percussion: instead of relying on standard dembow kits, I blended several textures, including processed claps, distorted snares, and filtered kicks to give the beat a more modern and aggressive sound. I also tuned certain percussive elements rhythmically so they added a melodic feel without using actual instruments. For the vocals, I kept the recording process raw and energetic. I didn’t aim for a “perfect” take—I aimed for a take with attitude, movement, and street energy. I recorded multiple short phrases and stitched them together in a rhythmic pattern to make the flow punch harder on the beat. In the mixing stage, I used automation heavily to give the song motion—bringing certain elements in and out, widening the vocals in key moments, and boosting specific frequencies during the drops to make the dance sections hit stronger. The entire approach was driven by emotion and instinct rather than strict rules, which is something that gives the track its personality. Overall, the uniqueness comes from doing everything myself, in a small home setup, using creativity instead of expensive equipment. That freedom allowed “La Borrachera” to sound bold, fresh, and authentically mine.
7. Do you have any recent or upcoming performances to highlight? If you've recently played at a notable venue or have significant shows planned, please share those details.
Yes, I have an upcoming performance that I’m really excited about. I’ll be performing on December 6th at Alta Gama in Lucerne, Switzerland, as the main artist of the night. The event is part of the Latin party series PRETTYTOSNICE, which features a blend of reggaetón, dembow, Afrobeat, bachata, and funk brasileiro. The show will include a live dance performance by Las Chicas Boombastic, with DJ Helder Lima on the decks, and I’ll be presenting my latest releases—including “La Borrachera.” It’s a special event because it brings the Latin community together in the heart of Switzerland, and it’s one of the venues where I feel the strongest connection with my audience. I’ve also been performing regularly across Lucerne and Zurich, building my presence in the Swiss Latin scene and preparing for more shows in 2025.
8. Could you share a memorable quote about this release or your journey as an artist? This could be your own reflection or something someone else involved in the project has said.
“I built this song the same way I’ve built my career: with no shortcuts, no big teams—just passion, discipline, and the belief that a Latin voice can shine anywhere in the world.”
9. Is there anything additional that would be valuable for curators to know? Any other details that might help curators understand the depth and context of your work would be appreciated.
One thing that might be valuable for curators to know is that my work is deeply connected to the experience of being a Latin independent artist living outside my home country. Every song I release carries a mix of cultures—my Caribbean roots, my love for 90s R&B, and the reality of building a music career in Switzerland without industry support. I’m fully self-produced, which means that the sound curators hear is 100% authentic to my vision. I’m not trying to imitate a trend—I’m creating from my lived experiences, mixing dembow, reggaetón, trap, and Afrobeats with a personal storytelling style. My music speaks to anyone who has ever had to start from zero, anyone who works all day and still finds the energy to chase their dreams at night. La Borrachera might sound like a party track, but behind it there’s resilience, culture, and the desire to bring Latin music to new spaces in Europe. I hope curators can feel that depth and identity in the song, and I’m grateful for every person who takes the time to listen and support independent artists like me.
